Elsewhere
The following photos were taken at Elsewhere, a collaborative artist community, studio and museum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Blake Williams and I spent some time there shooting some footage for one of the films in the Flux Films series. The series documents public art projects commissioned by Flux Projects.
A contingent of Elsewhere artists will be traveling to Atlanta on October 1 to contribute work to the FLUX 2010 public art even in Castleberry Hill.
If you ever make it to Greensboro, if you are ever even close, you must visit Elsewhere. You’d do yourself a great disservice by passing it up. It is a rare kind of place, singular in purpose and flavor. I’m afraid my flimsy iPhone photos do no justice to the scale or density of the many arrays of stuff, things, materials and art work that make up Elsewhere’s three-story menagerie. You’ll just have to visit.
